5600 mile Road Trip Recap

Chessie Trail along the Maury River

So, I just got back from an 8 day cross-country-and-back college visit road trip odyssey. And I can say with certainty that America truly is beautiful.

Our trip took us through seventeen states, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois. Missouri, and Kansas. We drove approximately 5600 miles!!!

I was able to get one actual hike in, in Lexington, Virginia, called the Chessie Trail. This trail is the site of a Civil War era train route that has had the tracks removed. Currently, the Virginia Military Institute cadets use this trail for their formation runs.

We visited Duke University, Washington and Lee University, University of Virginia, Princeton University, Notre Dame and briefly the University of Kansas for my son's college visits.

Below are some pictures from our trip! Let me know about some epic road trips that you may have taken.

Princeton University in New Jersey

The Colonnade at Washington and Lee University

The Rotunda (with construction renovation) at the University of Virginia

The Golden Dome at the University of Notre Dame
