Are they good?: OOFOS Ooahh Sport Footwear
A few weeks ago, a friend of mine, Katie Levy of Adventure Inspired connected me with the fine folks at OOFOS, a Massachusetts based shoe company with an offer to test their line of footwear. I chose and received the Ooahh Sport slides.
Oh. My. God.
I will never, ever exaggerate, lie, or generally be deceptive about what I think about the products that I review on this blog. Ever.
I have never worn a more comfortable pair of flip flops, or any shoe of this type, ever. Period. The best way that I can describe them is walking on air. They have a unique feature, with support built up in the mid foot area. This works like MAGIC as far as the comfort that the shoes bring to your feet. So far, I have totally used them both for recovery, post hike or trail run, or just generally wearing them around the house.
Editor's note: Confession...Historically, I haven't liked wearing flip flops. I do now... They are that comfortable.
The shoes are designed to reduce shock (they do), enable natural motion (for flip flops/slides, I feel like I'm always in control of my feet, no shaky footing or balance issues, common to flip flops) and reduce stress (my feet honestly feel like I haven't hiked or ran after I put them on in recovery mode). They really do.
If you are even remotely in the market for a recovery shoe, a camp shoe (these would be GREAT after an 18 mile backpack for certain) or just a general lifestyle shoe, I cannot recommend these enough.
They are light enough that they will float, making them great to wear while calm water kayaking, going to the beach, or anywhere where you might get them wet. They are moisture resistant as well so you could even use them as shower shoes, etc.
Additionally, as I've mentioned in my other reviews, the people at OOFOS seem to be genuinely good people as well, which means a lot to me.
@hikingjason rating: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Real Talk: I am disclosing that I was provided this product gratis from OOFOS to evaluate and test, however I have no current relationship with them, nor did they ask me about the contents of my review, etc. They're just good people that believe in other good people. My commitment to the readers of my blog is to always be honest about my impressions of the gear that I am asked to test or review. That will not change. Ever.
