Friday Feature: Cathy Merrifield of RoarLoud.net

For my second Friday Feature, I'm featuring my blogger friend Cathy Merrifield, @RoarLoud. Cathy is always smiling, always super positive and also proof that those of us over forty still 'got it'. Her and her boyfriend have been all over the world and have been on some amazing adventures. Please follow her on Twitter @RoarLoud and check out her blog at RoarLoud.

Age is just a number I often say. Truth is I have become more adventurous every year. With each year and every experience, my confidence grows and I"m ready to push my limits further. I have had a curious nature my whole life but I was not very adventurous until my 30's.

In my 30's my world was turned around with divorce and my days of being a "normal" mom of four (4) changed. I slowly found the adventurous side of me that had been waiting for her turn. I learned kayaking was fun and something I wanted to do more of. I faced my fears rock climbing. Eventually I found my true love.. the mountains!

In the mountains I felt at home and relaxed. This amazing feeling was addicting, each day off I headed for the trails for more. I learned there are 48 mountains in New Hampshire that are over 4,000 feet, a list for some. I wanted to see all of them! With every success I wanted to see what the next level I could reach.

When I met Frank I introduced him to hiking and he was eventually hooked too. Hiking brought us to new heights literally. Together we then fell in love... with travel! On our trip to St. Lucia we wanted to travel more. It was our trip to Tanzania that made us realize how little of the world we knew and had explored. Making it to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro was an unreal moment for us. We both knew after pushing beyond our breaking points and continuing on that there were few obstacles in life we couldn't face. As we were close to the summit I said to Frank, "We got this!" Those three words is how we chose to live our lives now.
